Fall Prevention
A fall isn't an accident — it's usually the product of a dozen small things visible only in the home. We identify them before the first fall, and definitely before the second.
How we care for it at home
- Room-by-room assessment of the actual home: lighting, rugs, thresholds, stairs, bathrooms.
- Review of every medication that contributes to dizziness or unsteadiness.
- Vision, hearing, blood pressure, and neuropathy checked in context.
- Coordination with physical therapy for strength and balance work.
What we watch for
- Orthostatic drops in blood pressure — often the hidden cause.
- Nighttime bathroom trips and footwear.
- Fear of falling, which itself accelerates decline.
- Post-fall changes — even a fall without injury is a signal.
