Primary Care · Behavioral Health
The mind and the body are the same patient.
Depression, anxiety, insomnia, and early cognitive change are common in adults with serious illness — and often the least treated. We evaluate and manage them in the home, alongside the rest of primary care.
What we address
- Depression and anxiety in the context of serious illness or caregiving.
- Sleep disturbance — including the kind that isn’t helped by more sleep aids.
- Grief, isolation, and the emotional weight of long illness.
- Concerns about memory, focus, or personality change — including early dementia workup.
How we treat
- Careful medication choices — many common prescriptions are wrong for older adults.
- Non-pharmacologic strategies that work in the home, with the family.
- Referrals to trusted therapists and psychiatrists when specialty support is needed.
- Ongoing follow-up in the same primary-care visits, not a separate silo.
